The Mariner Estates, currently under-construction, are located in the Delta and therefore provide little bearing support for structures.  We developed three types of light structures to provide shade from the intense sun light and react to the structural constraints.  While the strctures are physically light in weight, they are also light emitting at night - leading one through the complex to the group area around the pool.  The smallest shade structures are seen as Chinese lanterns lighting the pathway at night.
