This is the first freestanding Citibank office in California.  The design reflects current banking regulations that require a separation between general banking business and the investment banking.  The general banking is zoned to the large atrium space that reflects an open market while the investment banking is carried out in the more private wing.  The bank is clad in stone to give a sense of security at the same time the window mullions give an appearance of windows slightly ajar to give the bank a more open feeling than the classic fortification that banks traditionally advanced.  This was in keeping with Citibank’s more customer friendly banking position.  It was the recipient of the city of Danville’s Design award.
